1 Tb. olive oil
1/2 lb. hot Italian sausage
1 lb. sausage
3-4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 c. chicken broth
1 (28oz) can crshed toms
1/2 c. heavy cream
salt & pepper to taste
1 c. frozen peas
24 basil leaves ( I have used dried, 1 tsp.)
1 lb. penne pasta |
Cook Pasta
Heat oil in a large deep skillet. Add meat. Crumble sausage as it browns, add garlic. When all is brown, drain off extra fat. Add chicken broth and scrape brown bits off bottom of pan. Add toms. Boil, then reduce heat to simmer. Stir in cream. Add salt and pepper. Stir in peas and basil Toss hot drained peene in pan with sauce then transfer to serving bowl. |
