  Ham Stew

3 slices bacon
1 onion, chopped
3 celery, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
3 carrots, chopped
4 potatoes, chopped
1 can diced tomatoes
2 Tb. celery leaves
Salt and Pepper
Bay leaf
Ham, chopped
1 can kidney beans
Chicken stock
First saute the bacon until crispy then add onions and celery saute for about 5 minutes. Add the green pepper, carrots and potatoes and saute for about 5 more minutes. Add the seasonings, kidney beans and ham with enough chicken stock to cover. Simmer until the potatoes are fork tender about 45 minutes.
