  Garlic Chicken with Artichokes and Mushrooms

8 cloves fresh garlic
3/4 cup butter
6 chicken breasts, boned and pounded flat
Salt and pepper
2 Tb. olive oil
1/4 lv. mushrooms, sliced
1 (9-oz.) package frozen artichokes, cooked and drained
1 to 2 Tb. Marsala, sherry, or other white wine
Parsley for garnish
Mince 5 cloves garlic and saute in 1/2 cup melted butter in a skillet; add chicken breasts and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Brown, then remove chicken to a warm platter. Add remaining butter, olive oil, and remaining 3 cloves garlic, minced. Brown garlic and toss in mushrooms; add artichokes. Heat. Stir in lemon juice and wine. Let thicken to desired consistency. Pour over chicken; garnish with parsley. Serve with rice.
